Project description
Google’s EMEA headquarters, located on Barrow Street in Dublin, represents one of the most ambitious corporate campus developments in the region. Walls Construction was appointed to deliver a series of complex refurbishment and fit‑out projects, all while maintaining seamless operations in a live, fully occupied environment.
The first phase involved the refurbishment and phased fit‑out of Google’s offices in the Gasworks building. With staff working onsite throughout, Walls Construction coordinated tightly controlled workflows, ensuring minimal disruption while upgrading and modernising the workspace.
Following the successful completion of the Gasworks project, Walls Construction was engaged to fit out Google’s newly acquired Montevetro building, now known as Google Docks. Delivered from a shell‑and‑core state, the 25,451 m² building underwent a full transformation designed to achieve LEED Gold accreditation.
The scope of work was extensive:
- 12 floors of premium office space
- Two full‑service canteen levels
- A dedicated gymnasium and recreational areas
- A 25‑metre indoor swimming pool at ground level
- A dramatic triple‑height reception space
- A three‑storey basement housing storage, welfare facilities, and a CHP plant
Walls Construction delivered a world‑class, sustainability‑driven workspace that reflects Google’s global standards for innovation and employee experience.
Throughout the project, Zutec’s digital platform supported the team with structured document management, streamlined collaboration, and real‑time visibility across all phases of construction. This ensured quality, compliance, and traceability were maintained from shell‑and‑core through to final handover, enabling Walls Construction and Google to deliver a landmark headquarters built for long‑term performance.
