You can now delete attachments from a record

With this release, you will now be able to delete attachments from records in our field app. This feature will give you greater control over your data and help you manage your storage space more effectively.

Key benefits:

  • You can now delete individual attachments in our field app
  • You will be prompted to confirm the deletion of an attachment to prevent accidental deletions.
  • Deleted attachments can be recovered by editing records and reselecting files from the repository on the cloud.

How to use:

  • Navigate to the record that contains the attachment you want to delete.
  • On iOS, select the bin icon at the top right corner of the screen. Then click Delete in the dialogue box to confirm the deletion.
  • On Android, click Delete under the bin icon at the top right of the screen. Then select DELETE in the dialog box to confirm deletion.

Note: Users must modify permissions to delete attachments and access the record that contains the attachment.

New in-app Android back button

You can now use an in-app Android back button to navigate within the application. This feature will make it easier for you to move between screens and improve the overall usability of the application.

Key benefits:

  • You can now use the back button within the application to navigate between screens.
  • The in-app back button provides a consistent user experience across the application.

How to use:

  • The in-app back button is located at the top left corner of the screen. To use it, simply tap on it. The button will take you back to the previously viewed screen.

Bulk import users and assign to permission groups

You can now bulk import new users and assign them to permission groups in one easy step. This feature will make it easier for administrators to manage users and their permissions.

Key benefits:

  • Administrators can now import multiple users and assign them to permission groups in one step.
  • Administrators can easily manage user permissions and ensure the appropriate level of access is assigned.

How to use:

  • Navigate to Manage Users — Import Users.
  • Click on Download Template File, add your data and then select Import Users.
  • Follow the prompts to upload an XLSX file containing the user information and the corresponding permission group(s).
  • Review the import results to ensure all users and permissions have been correctly assigned.

Note:

  • The XLSX file must contain the required user information, such as username and email address, as well as the corresponding permission group(s).
  • The bulk import feature can only be accessed by users with administrative privileges.

Calculated fields

You can now use a powerful new feature that allows you to calculate field values based on data from other fields. This dynamic and flexible functionality enables you to automate calculations and streamline your data management processes within the application.

Key benefits:

  • Field Value Calculation Based on Other Fields
    • You can now set up custom calculations using data from other fields to automatically determine the value of a target field.
    • Once set up, the calculated field will automatically update its value whenever the values of the referenced fields change.
  • User Interface Enhancements:
    • Added a visual indicator to distinguish calculated fields from regular fields in the record view.
    • Improved the field settings interface, making configuring and managing calculated fields easier.
  • Performance and Security Improvements:
    • Optimised the calculation process to ensure minimal impact on the application's performance.
    • Ensured that calculated fields are subject to the same access controls and security measures as regular fields to prevent unauthorised access.

How to use:

  • Click on Select Field to set the field for calculation.
  • Add a custom value, plus any other field as a reference, which will generate the value for the selected field and click on Set Calculated Field.
  • You can then view all your calculated fields under Existing Calculated Fields.

Updates to the new user interface

We have focused on addressing bugs and making improvements to the new user interface that is currently in the Beta release. Our goal is to ensure that the new user interface is functioning as expected and providing a seamless user experience.

  • In this release, we have addressed and resolved a wide variety of bugs affecting Cloud, Form Builder, Field (iOS and Android), and API functionalities. These bug fixes include improvements in form handling, user interface, syncing issues, file management, permissions, and overall performance enhancements. Additionally, we have tackled several client-specific issues, ensuring that our platform is tailored to the unique needs and requirements of our diverse user base. Our team is committed to continually optimising the user experience, and we appreciate your feedback as we work together to create a more efficient and robust platform.

Improvements:

  • In this release, we have implemented various general improvements. The enhancements include streamlining user interfaces, refining workflows, optimising system performance, expanding our feature offerings, and addressing numerous issues reported by our users.

    • Optimisation of the Open/Edit form page, including performance/loading improvements. Forms are now opening up to 8 times faster
    • Improved User Journey from notification emails. If users are logged in to a different zone, clicking on the notification email will automatically take them to a new zone without the need to log in or manually change zones
    • Improved Drawing Manager for better handling of drawings.
    • Optimised the new user interface (UI) for a better user experience.
    • Enhanced Register View for efficient searching and updating.
    • Resolved issues related to mobile-friendly checklists on iOS.
    • Fixed errors in sync functionalities for better data management.
    • Implemented fixes and updates for our Machine Learning services, such as file categorisation and email services.
    • Addressed client-specific concerns, such as custom report issues and data syncing.
