Simplify compliance with the new building and fire safety regime

Create an accurate as-built record of your asset’s fire safety systems and documentation to uphold a golden thread of information in line with The Building Safety Act. By structuring critical fire information in a concise, simple, and user-friendly format, you can stay ahead of the curve and mitigate your risk of non-compliance.

Streamline Fire and Emergency File documentation management

The Building Safety Act mandates that fire safety documentation must be prepared and submitted to the Regulator before designs are approved and they must be updated throughout construction and completion of a build.

Zutec simplifies the process of maintaining a digital record of a building's as-built status of fire safety details, as well as a full audit trail for seamless regulatory compliance.

FAQs

Still Have Questions?

What is a Fire and Emergency File (FEF)?

Fire and Emergency Files set out critical information required by dutyholders of Higher-Risk Residential Buildings (HRRBs) in England. Dutyholders will be required to produce these files during the design and construction phases of a HRRB as well as evidence them as part of the Building Safety Case Report once a HRRB is completed and occupied.

Why can’t I just keep traditional paper copies of my Fire and Emergency File (FEF)?

Storing paper-based documentation of your Fire and Emergency Files is cumbersome when you could have a porta cabin full of archive boxes. At the same time, it makes it incredibly difficult to find and update information. Going digital is particularly important for high-rise buildings where under the Building Safety Act 2022, dutyholders are required to keep an up-to-date record of structural and fire safety information online and need a digital record.

I’m happy with a USB stick, why do I need to host it online?

An offline copy is a good back-up option, but tends to be impractical for day-to-day use, as it is not straight forward to circulate information. A USB can get lost, and it is difficult to give multiple users access.
