New in-browser document viewing, markup, and Word editing
Overview
We’ve launched a new in-browser document experience across the Zutec platform. You can now open, view, annotate, edit, and collaborate on documents directly in your browser—no downloads or third-party software required.
You can also compare document revisions side-by-side and make edits to Word documents in real time, making your document workflows faster and more efficient.
Key Features
In-Browser Document Viewer
Open and view PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), and DWG files right in your browser, with support for multi-page navigation and high-fidelity rendering.

Markup & Annotation Tools
You can:
- Highlight text or sections
- Draw arrows, rectangles, and circles
- Add freehand annotations
- Insert comments

All markups are saved without changing the original document.
Stamping Functionality
Add visual stamps like “Approved,” “Rejected,” or “For Review” to communicate document status clearly during the review process.

Signature Block Support
Apply your saved digital signature block directly within documents to support sign-off and audit workflows.

Side-by-Side Revision Comparison
Compare two versions of a document in your browser. The system highlights content changes and markups, with synced scrolling and zooming for a smoother experience.

In-Browser Word Editing
Edit Word documents directly in the browser — add text, complete tables, or fill out templates without needing to download the file.

Master register sync
Overview
This update introduces automated synchronisation between Registers using persistent UID links. You can now define a Master Register (e.g. Asset Register) and automatically sync its records to other Registers (e.g. Inspection Register). Any changes made to the master are instantly reflected in the connected records — no manual duplication required.

Register-to-Register Sync
Automatically copy selected fields from a master Register into a child Register.
Persistent UID Linking
Each synced record is tied to its source via a unique ID, allowing ongoing updates.
Dynamic Field Updates
Changes to key fields in the master (like location or classification) are reflected in all synced records.

Recurring actions
Overview
Recurring Actions allow you to automatically generate future tasks based on a set frequency. Combined with Master Register Sync, this feature helps you manage recurring inspections and maintenance with ease.

Key features
Automated Task Generation
When you complete a task, the system automatically creates the next one using the assigned frequency.
Due-Date-Based Scheduling
The system uses the original due date (not the completion date) to schedule the next task, keeping intervals consistent.
Support for Multiple Frequencies
Tasks can repeat every 3, 6, or 12 months, with automatic adjustments for weekends.
Support for Multiple Check Types
Schedule different recurring checks (e.g. quarterly and annual) for the same asset.

Field app enhancements – Sync issue management
Overview
We've improved how Zutec Field handles synchronisation issues. You can now quickly identify, filter, and troubleshoot sync errors to keep your data flowing smoothly.

How to use
Error Icons
After syncing, look for the red icon on records with errors.
Filter
Open the filter options in any Register and select “Sync Errors.”
Error Messages
Tap the menu on a record, then choose "Errors" to view the details.
Platform-wide updates and improvements

Email Threads in Messages
Replies in Zutec Mail now include full message history, improving clarity in both Zutec and external email platforms like Outlook or Gmail.
Dynamic Pin Scaling on Cloud
Pins now scale with zoom level. In Add Pin mode, existing pins appear translucent, making it easier to place new pins behind them if needed.
Global Search — Filter Retention
When you search and navigate to a Register, the system now auto-filters the Register using your search term — no more hunting through unfiltered data.
Photo Upload Cancel Option (iOS)
You can now cancel photo uploads from forms on iOS without taking a photo — just tap “Done.”
Support for .p7m Files
You can now upload and manage .p7m encrypted files securely within the platform.
Dropdown Cleanup on Register Deletion
When you delete a Register, Zutec now removes any linked dropdown configurations, ensuring cleaner project data.
Improved User Group Removal Messaging
We’ve updated the confirmation message and button labels when removing users from all groups to make the process clearer.
Form Comments in Archive Exports
You can now include form comments in archive exports for better documentation and context.
